In this tutorial you will learn how to terminate an account which you no longer want to allow it to occupy your server’s resources. However be warned that the termination cannot be undone – meaning it’s permanent , once deleted from the server there is no way of recovering it. So be very sure you want to do this before proceeding.
Follow this detailed tutorial as well as the video How to terminate an account in WHM? to get a good understanding of the action.
- Click the Account Functions link after you’ve logged into WHM.
- Click the Terminate an Account link.
- For the purposes of this tutorial, we’re going to delete a dummy account we created called mynewtestdomain.com, select it.
- Now scroll down. Remember, clicking the Terminate button here is permanent. You will only be able to get this account afterwards, if there is a backup of it on the server, or if you’ve backed it up yourself somewhere else. Click the Terminate button.
- That’s it! The account has been deleted from WHM and the server. Now go to the account information menu in the left side panel and click on List Accounts.
- The mynewtestdomain.com account is no longer listed here in the list of accounts.
